What genuinely does matter is whether your swing is changing week to week. If you are three months into taking up the game, your delivery will move enough over the next year that anything we specify now will need revisiting. In that case we will fit length, lie and grip size only, charge you accordingly, and ask you to come back once things settle.

Whatever is in your bag today, including the clubs you have no intention of replacing. One of them becomes the reference for the session, and the rest describe how the bag currently hangs together.

Put on your golf shoes as well. Spike height alters how far you stand from the ball, so a lie angle taken in trainers belongs to a slightly different person than the one who tees off on Saturday.

It is ten recorded swings with your own club at the start of the appointment, and ten more at the end. The difference between them is how much you changed over the session, which we call drift.

Without it, every candidate club is being compared against a moving target. Most golfers drift between half a percent and two percent in ball speed across ninety minutes, which is comfortably larger than the difference between two good driver heads. The twenty minutes buys you results that survive contact with a real round of golf.

The bays are indoor with a Doppler unit, and we also have outdoor capacity for sessions where carry confirmation matters. Driver work in particular benefits from watching real ball flight rather than a modelled one, and we will schedule that way when the weather cooperates.

For turf interaction work we use a replaceable hitting surface that a club can genuinely enter. A standard practice mat cannot be penetrated, which means every sole shape looks acceptable on it, which makes it useless for grind decisions.

Get them measured before you decide. A ten-year-old forged set that has been played hard is frequently a degree or two out of specification, and correcting that is a fifty-five dollar job rather than a two-thousand dollar one.

If the grooves are gone and the lofts have been bent repeatedly, we will tell you. But roughly one client a week arrives ready to replace a set that mainly needed a bench afternoon.

It is, and the rack carries left-hand stock as a matter of course rather than as a special order placed after you arrive. The one caveat worth stating plainly: fewer models exist in left-hand fitting trim across the whole industry, so the field of candidates in a driver appointment is smaller than it would be for a right-hander. We will say so at the time if it narrows what can be compared.

Two to three days for a single club, three to five for a full set, assuming components are in stock. Epoxy needs its cure time and we do not rush it, because a shaft that separates in August is a much bigger problem than a wait in July.

Everything is checked against the session sheet before it goes out, and we call you rather than emailing when it is ready.

Please do. There is seating in both bays and a second pair of eyes is often useful, particularly for anything involving how a club looks at address. The only request is that opinions stay quiet during a recorded block.

Yes, at half rate for anyone under sixteen. We will also be direct with a parent about timing: a junior in the middle of a growth spurt should be fitted for length and grip size and then re-checked, not specified into an expensive set that will be wrong by next season.
